It’s Time to Become More Personal

There has been something on my mind lately about the future of Eye Opener Society, and I think it is worth sharing.

We live in a world where almost everything has become electronic.

We talk to people through screens. We meet people through social media. We announce things online. We share our thoughts with people we may have never actually met.

And while there is certainly value in being able to reach people this way, I have started to wonder if we have allowed the electronic world to become too important.

Maybe it is time for us to become more personal again.

Eye Opener Society has always been about people. It has never been about numbers, algorithms, likes, views, or followers. Those things can be useful, but they aren't the reason we started this ministry.

The reason is connection.

Real connection.

There is something different about sitting across from another person and having a conversation. Looking someone in the eyes. Listening to what they have to say. Sharing an experience. Learning something from one another.

You simply cannot duplicate that through a screen.

And honestly, I think that may be where our future needs to go.

I would like to see Eye Opener Society become something that people experience rather than simply something they find online.

That doesn't mean we're walking away from the internet. Our recordings, live sermons, website, and social media will still be there for those who want to find us.

But I don't want our ministry to depend upon an algorithm deciding whether someone gets to see our message.

I would rather meet someone.

Talk with them.

Tell them who we are.

Tell them what we believe Eye Opener Society can be.

And then let them decide if they want to become part of that conversation.

Sometimes one genuine conversation can accomplish more than hundreds of online posts.

That is something I want us to remember.

Each person involved with Eye Opener Society has something different to offer. We don't all have the same experiences, the same interests, or the same way of practicing our spirituality—and that's okay.

Actually, that's exactly what makes this community interesting.

We are individuals who have come together under one name, but we are still individuals.

I don't want to build a ministry where everyone has to fit into the same mold. I want to build something where people can bring their own experiences, ideas, practices, and perspectives and share them with others.

That is what community should be.

So perhaps the next chapter of Eye Opener Society isn't about becoming bigger online.

Perhaps it's about becoming closer together in the real world.

Maybe it's attending events.

Maybe it's sitting down with people for coffee and having a conversation.

Maybe it's handing someone a business card.

Maybe it's simply mentioning the name Eye Opener Society when someone asks what you do.

Maybe it's meeting someone who has been looking for exactly the kind of community we are trying to create.

We don't know where those conversations will lead.

And that's okay.

Not everything needs to be measured by numbers.

Some things are measured by the people we meet, the conversations we have, and the lives we touch along the way.

So if you're reading this, I want you to know that Eye Opener Society is still here.

We're still growing.

We're still figuring things out.

And we're still becoming what we are meant to be.

But I think it's time we start looking beyond the screen.

It's time to talk to people again.

It's time to meet people again.

It's time to become more personal.

One conversation at a time.

One person at a time.

And maybe that's where the real future of Eye Opener Society begins.
